Can I close the doors while a fire is burning?
It depends on the door type. Most masonry-fireplace doors with tempered or ceramic glass are designed to be operated open while a wood fire burns at full intensity, then closed once the fire has burned down to embers. How do I measure for fireplace doors?
Measure the firebox opening at three points each direction (top, middle, bottom for width; left, center, right for height) and use the smallest measurement.
