What does a spark guard do?

A spark guard uses mesh to help contain sparks and embers from a fireplace. Choose a model intended for that use and follow its placement instructions.

Is every decorative screen a spark guard?

No. Check the product’s mesh, coverage and intended use. Decoration alone is not a spark-containment rating.

What size screen should I choose?

Choose a screen that covers the opening when positioned as intended. For a custom screen, enter the finished screen dimensions requested on the product page. Folding models may ask for the center-panel width separately.

How should I position the screen?

Place it according to the instructions for the screen and fireplace, with its feet or side panels properly supported. Check that you can still reach the fireplace controls and open any doors.

Can I choose the finish?

Open a product to see its available finishes. Samples let you compare the color with your brick, stone and other finishes at home.
