Let’s start with your fireplace

The brick or stone around a fireplace doesn’t tell the whole story. A photo helps us find your starting point; measurements and the fireplace’s make and model may still be needed to confirm fit.

Use a cool fireplace. Stand straight in front and include the whole opening. Leave installed parts in place. JPG, PNG or HEIC, up to 10 MB each.

Find doors for your factory-built fireplace

Give your fireplace a fresh look with a frame and finish that suit your room. For a prefab fireplace, start with its manufacturer and model number: a matching opening size alone does not confirm that a door is suitable.

Start with the model label

Check your fireplace manual for the rating-label location, then take a clear photo of the manufacturer name and model number. A wider photo of the fireplace helps our team see the existing doors, trim and surrounding finish.

Compare compatible styles

Once compatibility is confirmed, compare the available frame profiles, finishes and door options. Each product page lists its choices. For aluminum models, the frame is assembled from four sections joined with corner brackets.

Plan the fit and installation

Follow the measuring instructions for your fireplace and selected door. Mounting hardware and installation steps vary by model, so keep the fireplace manual and the door instructions together. Ask our team if an existing frame or surrounding tile makes the fit unclear.

What is a prefab fireplace?

A prefab, or factory-built, fireplace has a manufactured firebox and model-specific installation requirements. The label inside or near the firebox identifies its manufacturer and model.

What information do you need to check the fit?

Send the fireplace manufacturer, model number, opening measurements and a clear photo. A photo of the model label is especially helpful.

Can I fit any door with matching dimensions?

No. The replacement must be compatible with the fireplace’s mounting and ventilation requirements, as well as its dimensions.

Are prefab doors available in steel and aluminum?

Yes, manufacturers offer both. Choose a model intended for your fireplace rather than selecting by frame material alone.

Can I install the doors myself?

Read the installation instructions for the fireplace and replacement doors first. Our team can help you identify the required mounting method; use an installer if the work is beyond your experience.
