Electric Fireplaces
Electric fireplaces — wall-mount, built-in linear, freestanding inserts. Realistic LED flame technology, supplemental heat output (4,000-9,000 BTU), and zero installation complexity. No chimney, no gas line, no flue. Plug into a standard 120V outlet (most models) or hardwire for 240V on larger units. Three types of electric fireplaces — pick the right one 1. Wall-mount electric fireplaces Mount flat against any wall like a TV. 36"-72" wide units are most popular. Modern aesthetic; ideal for apartments, bedrooms, basement family rooms. Plug into a standard outlet. $400-$1,500. 2. Built-in linear electric fireplaces Install into a cabinet, niche, or media wall. Long, narrow profile (40"-72" wide × 14"-18" tall). The premium architectural choice for new construction or major renovation. Often include built-in heater and remote-control flame customization. $700-$2,500. 3. Freestanding electric inserts Drop into an existing wood-burning or gas firebox to convert it to electric without removing the original surround. Plug-and-play retrofit; saves the cost of demolition. $300-$900. Why electric fireplaces are growing 18% YoY No chimney required — install anywhere with electrical service No gas line — eliminates plumber install cost ($800-$2,000) of gas units Year-round ambiance — flame effect runs without heat for warm-weather use Multi-color flames — modern units cycle through orange, blue, purple, green Pet + child safe — glass surface stays cool to the touch Zero emissions — no carbon monoxide, no particulate matter, no HOA restrictions Energy efficient — 99% of electricity converts to heat (vs 30% for traditional fireplace) Heat output — what to expect 120V plug-in models: 4,000-5,000 BTU (heats 400-500 sq ft as supplemental) 240V hardwired models: 8,000-9,000 BTU (heats 800-1,000 sq ft as supplemental) Electric fireplaces are SUPPLEMENTAL heat, not primary. Pair with central heating in cold climates. Installation Wall-mount: 30-45 minutes. Mounting bracket to studs + plug in. Built-in: 2-4 hours. Frame the recess + install the unit + finish surround. Freestanding insert: 30 minutes. Slide into existing firebox + plug in. Frequently asked questions Do electric fireplaces look realistic? Modern LED flame technology is significantly more realistic than the 1990s/2000s units that built electric fireplace's mediocre reputation. Premium 2025+ models from leading manufacturers feature multi-layer LED flame effects, log-bed accent lighting, and adjustable flame intensity. From 6+ feet, most observers can't distinguish from gas. Will an electric fireplace heat my room? Supplementally, yes. A 5,000 BTU unit raises a 400 sq ft room temperature by 5-8°F over 30 minutes. For primary heating in cold climates, central HVAC is still required. Do I need an electrician? Plug-in (120V) units: no — standard outlet. Hardwired (240V) larger units: yes — licensed electrician for the dedicated circuit install. Can I run an electric fireplace 24/7? Yes — designed for continuous operation. Most units have a 24-hour timer for auto-off if preferred. Are electric fireplaces expensive to run? Heat ON: roughly $0.10-$0.20/hour at typical US electricity rates. Flame-only (no heat): $0.01-$0.03/hour. Far cheaper than gas logs. Browse the catalog Browse all electric fireplaces or call (949) 619-7824 for help picking the right model for your space.

Electric Fireplace FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Do electric fireplaces need venting or a gas line?
No — that's the point. Electric fireplaces need only an electrical circuit: 120V plug-in for most models, 240V hardwire for the highest-output units. No vent, no chimney, no gas work, and usually no permit.
How much heat does an electric fireplace give?
Typical 1,500W/120V units deliver about 4,800 BTU — comfortable supplemental heat for ~400 sq ft. Select models run 240V for ~8,500–10,000 BTU (up to ~1,000 sq ft). You can also run the flames with the heater off for year-round ambiance. Need primary heat? Consider a gas fireplace (20,000–50,000 BTU).
Can I put a TV above an electric fireplace?
Yes — this is where electric shines. Most units vent little to no heat upward (many have front or bottom heat outlets), so TV clearances are minimal. Check your model's manual, but media-wall installs with a TV directly above are standard practice.
How real do the flames look?
Ranges from classic LED ribbons to premium LCD flame screens (Napoleon Elevation X, Modern Flames HelioVision) and water-vapor "flames" (Dimplex Optimyst) that fool most guests. Product pages state the flame technology for every model.
How does shipping work?
Free freight shipping in the contiguous US. Units ship factory-new; typical transit is 3–6 business days once shipped. Inspect at delivery and note any damage on the receipt — confirmed transit damage is repaired or replaced at no cost.
Can I install a fireplace door myself?
Yes — every door ships with a hardware pack, install instructions, and template. Masonry overlap doors need a hammer drill with a 1/4-inch masonry bit; prefab doors anchor to existing factory mounting points. Plan on 30–60 minutes for the install. The installation guide walks through both fit types.
