What types of fire pits do you carry?
Three primary categories: gas (natural gas line, fixed location), propane (refillable tanks, portable), and wood-burning (open flame, traditional). Plus fire pit tables that combine fire feature with usable surface. Each category has different install requirements and operating costs.
Can I use a fire pit on a wood deck?
Most fire pits require a non-combustible base — concrete pavers, stone, or steel heat shield. Wood decks need protective measures: a deck protector mat (rated to 600°F+) or a stone/paver pad under the pit. Always check the manufacturer's clearance requirements.
Are gas fire pits warm enough to use in fall/winter?
Yes — typical gas fire pits run 40,000-65,000 BTU, enough to warm a small seating area to 60-70°F when ambient is 35-45°F. Wind reduces effective heat significantly; sheltered patios get more use from the same BTU output.
Do I need a permit for an outdoor fire pit?
Local rules vary widely. Many jurisdictions require permits for permanent installations (gas line, masonry construction); portable propane fire pits are typically exempt. Always check your city/county building department before installing.
What's the warranty on a fire pit?
Fire pits carry the manufacturer’s own warranty, and the term differs by brand and by component — burner, frame and ignition module are often covered for different lengths of time.
