Overview

The American Fyre Designs Reclaimed Wood Bordeaux Square Fire Bowl marries the warmth of weathered timber with the durability of glass fiber reinforced concrete. Each piece is hand-cast and hand-finished to mimic the grain, knots and patina of salvaged wood, giving the square Bordeaux silhouette a rustic, one-of-a-kind character no two bowls share.

Beneath the artistry sits the same serious hardware as the rest of the Bordeaux line: a 16-inch stainless steel star burner producing up to 65,000 BTU of radiant flame across fire glass or lava media (sold separately). Match-lit manual flame-sensing ignition keeps it simple, and your choice of natural gas or propane lets it drop into any outdoor setting.

FAQ · What buyers ask

Frequently asked questions

Wood, gas, or propane — which fire pit is right for me?

Wood-burning fire pits give the most authentic crackle and smoke smell — but require seasoned firewood and produce ash. Natural gas fire pits run from a fixed gas line for unlimited burn time, instant on/off, no ash — require a gas plumber for install. Propane (LP) fire pits use a refillable tank, fully portable, also instant on/off — tank lasts roughly 8–14 hours on average use.

Where can I install a fire pit?

Most fire pits are designed for outdoor use only — on a non-combustible surface (stone patio, concrete, gravel, or fire-rated paver). Maintain at least 10 feet of clearance from buildings, fences, overhangs, and combustible vegetation. Check local fire ordinances; some HOAs and municipalities restrict open flame outdoors. Never use indoors — CO and combustion byproducts make this unsafe.

Can I use a fire pit on my wood deck?

Only with a fire-rated heat shield mat underneath and a unit specifically rated for deck use. Many wood-burning pits should not be used on wood decks at all due to ember escape risk. Gas and propane pits with sealed bottoms and proper heat shields are safer for decks — but always check the manufacturer's clearance requirements and your local code.

How long does a propane tank last?

A standard 20 lb propane tank typically powers a fire pit for 8–14 hours at full output, depending on the BTU rating of the burner. At lower flame settings, you can stretch this to 16+ hours. To extend tank life: lower the flame, use a wind guard to reduce gas waste, and turn off when not actively in use.

Free shipping and warranty?

Free freight shipping on all fire pits within the contiguous US. Most fire pits carry a 1–5 year manufacturer warranty (varies by model — full warranty terms on each product page). 30-day return window on unused units. White-glove delivery on heavier models.
