Are ventless gas logs safe?
Ventless gas logs sold in the US must include an oxygen depletion sensor (ODS) by design — the unit shuts off automatically if room oxygen drops below safe levels. To use safely: install a CO detector in the room, follow the BTU sizing limits for your room volume, crack a window if running for extended periods, and don't run continuously for more than the manufacturer's stated maximum (typically 4 hours). Can I use gas logs in my wood-burning fireplace?
