The SA42 is the 42-inch Sovereign — Majestic's current wood-burning circulating fireplace in its full-width form. The factory specification sheet puts its viewing area at 42 inches wide by 21-3/8 inches tall, almost nine hundred square inches of fire view in the proportion American family rooms were framed around. Like its 36-inch sibling, the SA42 hides two fireplaces inside one name, and the right door starts with knowing which one is on your rating plate.
Radiant or circulating — read the suffix
SA42R is the radiant version; SA42C is the circulating version with louver banks that move room air around the firebox. The suffix changes the door conversation in one concrete way: on a circulating model, the louvers must stay unobstructed, and Majestic's own gasketed factory door is offered for the circulating version specifically.
