The SB60 is the 36-inch member of Majestic's Biltmore line — a radiant wood-burning fireplace designed around one idea: height. Majestic's specification sheet lists the viewing area at 36 inches wide by 28-1/2 inches tall, over a thousand square inches of glass-ready opening. Where builder-grade prefabs give you a letterbox, the Biltmore gives you a picture window, and the door you put on it is the frame around that picture.

Which Biltmore do you have?

The line runs three sizes: this 36-inch SB60, the 42-inch SB80, and the 50-inch SB100, with HB-suffixed versions (SB60HB) denoting the herringbone interior brick. The rating plate inside the firebox carries the model; the herringbone pattern is visible at a glance. Factory door vs. built to your numbers

Majestic's spec sheet lists a factory bi-fold (DM6036) and mesh fronts for the SB60 — the same DM6036 kit, incidentally, that fits the Heatilator Icon 60, its corporate cousin with an identical 36 x 28-1/2 opening. A made-to-order door earns its place on three counts:

Record the width at the top, middle, and bottom of the opening, and the height at the left, center, and right, per our measuring guide; the smallest numbers are the build numbers. Is the SB60 opening the same as the Heatilator Icon 60? Both list 36" x 28-1/2" and share the DM6036 factory kit — they are corporate siblings under Hearth & Home Technologies. Even so, order against your own measurement, not the family resemblance.

Can I burn wood with the doors closed? Not with standard tempered glass — it is rated for doors-open use. Closed-door burning calls for ceramic glass — bring it up with a specialist before ordering.

Do doors interfere with the herringbone interior? No — the door frames the opening; the SB60HB's brick interior stays fully visible behind the glass.
