Order a generic "Marco 36 door" without checking the height and you can end up with a door that physically will not go into the box. The D36 family is also the broadest of Marco's 36-inch lines: eight variants, from the D36CF (catalog 792807) and D36HC (792809) to the T-series units — D36TCF, D36TCFI, D36THC and D36THCI — spanning catalog numbers 792805 through 792812. All of them are orphans today, because Marco went out of business and never handed its door tooling to a successor.

A few things that ruin D36 door projects
Three mistakes come up again and again with this model. The first is trusting the width alone — a 36-inch-wide door built for a taller Marco opening leaves you with a unit you cannot install or return cheaply. The second is reaching for a masonry overlap door because it is in stock somewhere; overlap frames are designed to anchor into brick, and on a prefab steel face they seal poorly and hold heat against the shell. The third is treating the new glass doors like a wood stove: standard tempered glass doors are meant to be fully open while the fire burns, and the louvered vents above and below the opening must never be covered, because that moving air is what keeps the wall framing around a zero-clearance box safe.

Are original Marco D36 doors still made? No. Marco is defunct and no OEM doors exist for any 7928xx-series catalog number — replacement means aftermarket, and exact-fit custom is the reliable end of that market.
Will a B36 or C36 door fit my D36? No — listed openings differ between the families. The C36's runs about two inches taller, and while the B36's height is much closer to the D36's, it is still not identical, so never swap doors between Marco's 36-inch lines without measuring.
